Honestly if Guerin can't get Cirelli or Monahan, I'd rather we just hang on to Dumba. Danault is good but not really a 1C. We already have Eriksson Ek to play the role that Danault plays anyways

they dont need a 1c when you have 3 2nd lines rolled equally

Khovanov isn't playing much on his khl team, have you heard anything on that?

But we don't even have 3 second lines. Fiala is easily a 1st line winger, but outside of the Parise is maybe a 2nd line player, Zucc played like a 3rd liner, Kaprizov is a big question mark, Johansson was a failure at center last year and we're reportedly playing him as our 1C, Ek is a 3rd liner, and Kunin/Donato/Greenway are 3rd liners. I'd say we have 1 second line, 2 third lines, and a 4th line.

I think ur wrong, and I'm a Habs fan.
Petry being UFA vs Duma 3 years at less then what Petrys next contract will be.
Petry will start to decline during his next contract.
Today, Petry is better than Dumba-id say. But Dumba holds significantly more value.
I'd rather Dumba than Petry today.

Domi ++ for Dumba and move Petry for futures so we can sign Gallagher Danault next year.
    It's a solid fix.

Petry 40 points last year vs Dumba's 24 points last year. Petry is better offensively and defensively. The term thing doesn't work because Dumba isn't worth 6 Million a year.

If we wanted to make it easy, trade Petry and sign one of the top RHD in free agency this year.

No thanks. Danault is a 2/3C tweener, and that's not worth moving Dumba.

One of the better defensive centers in the league while scoring 45 points at 5V5.... yeah I'd rather keep that an overpaid offensive defensemen that can't even score 30 points a season

Probably because he's playing against men in the KHL and not the kids in the Q.

Dumba had a 50 point season, the next was 22 points in 32 games then gets a nasty knee injury.

Pectoral tear is a chest injury not knee.

Unfortunately his value is "what have you done for me lately". he had 1 50 points season and 4 20-30 pt seasons. I'm going to say he had one great season and that he actually isn't that good. Domi is a 50 PT forward all day long and there's an upside there. I'd rather just keep Domi

The KHL doesn't care about his development, they play to win. Just being at practices should be helping his development, it's better than sitting at home until Dec/Jan if he stayed in NA.

Yep. That's why you see the Elite NHL prospects being given 10-12 minutes a night in the KHL. It's a very bad place for development

It's funny Brodin gets re-signed and then all Domi trades disappeared. Then Staal gets traded and all the Domi trades come back. MTL can't find anywhere else to trade Domi, so there really isn't much market for him. MN doesn't want him either, if they did he'd be on the team 45 secs after Staal was traded.

Who said Montreal wants to trade Domi? His name is out there because there isn't room for him, it doesn't mean we are looking to dump him. Minnesota is rumoured because they lose almost every trade so it makes sense grin

IMO there's a market for Domi cause it's a barren UFA year. Not many Cs on the market. The thing with domi is that he had his best year while playing with Drouin, which is IMO the best forward he ever played with. And Drouin isn't THAT great. Give Domi legit top 6 wingers and he's averaging 65 pts/yr.

But Danault is the ideal player for MIN cause when they get a true #1 , itll be an envious C depth. I don't think Ek has peaked either. FLA is the other dest for Danault IMO , they got nothing after Barkov. No taxes. They could under pay him.

    MIN could always offersheet someone.
