Just giving away Dermott and Kerfoot is a poor plan, you can do a lot better than that.

I don't think the Leafs will be able to get much more for those two than the 4th round picks. Maybe a third, but likely not higher than that.

That being said, I think that is a steep price to pay for Kuemper. I know they will have to sweeten the deal to shed some cap, but I don't think this is the deal to make. Thornton likely doesn't sign here and Gudas will cost you more than the league minimum.

Still over the cap with a scratch forward. And I still feel like this team doesn’t get far in the playoffs. Top six is super strong, but you need depth and that bottom six gets picked apart. Even if you feed the top six big minutes you don’t have the right guys to stop the other teams top players and kill penalties

You've let the nonsense this site portrays as value poison your brain. No one on here has any idea what thier talking about when it comes to Value of players or the dire financial situation many teams find themselves in - Kerfoot = 3.5 AAV but = 2.6 in salary is a 3 C or Top 6 LW all over the league

The Yotes deal looks good on paper, Freddy being a straight cap dump just about even money across between Freddy and Kuemper cap wise
Yotes want a first for Kuemper which you include and could handle Freddy’s 1mil salary but I don’t believe they’d have any interest in Johnsson he’s been paid his bonus so only 2.6mil salary plus Freddy’s 1mil means their taking back 3.6mil in actual salary where they are looking to bring no salary back in a Kuemper deal and move his 4.5mil off the books

I won't disagree with you, even I have a hard time evaluating players values. It can vary (in my opinion) based on team needs, cap sitatuation, etc.

I think I would leave his "value" at a 4th because teams know that the Leafs will need to shed cap and don't necessarily need to pay his full value to acquire him.

The Leafs can roll what they have without shedding cap, it's if they want to improve some salary needs to go out but Dermott isn't salary he's under 2 on a 1 yr deal
