I mean, I get that the important thing here is the Ehlers trade...but why in the world would Detroit give up anything for Hudon?

Ehlers signed longterm at a decent number, mete has no real value to wpg longterm and probably ends up in Seattle, and kulak could be easily bought through free agency, someone similar anyway, so neither have any real value to wpg and domi has a limited window without a longterm contract. Getting so close to free agency, I don’t understand why he would sign longterm now unless it’s a overpay. So why does Winnipeg do the deal?
