This one might turn some heads, but I could see them taking Jake Sanderson at 5. When Barrie finishes his contract, a Chabot-Sanderson pairing would be terrific for Ottawa.

It’s a crap shoot predicting that. You also have to factor in who DET takes as they might go a bit off the board. I’d say they likely end up with byfield and 5 idk. Maybe they take Rossi?

*IF they sign Barrie however lol. If they do not sign a UFA RD, then Chabot-Sanderson could be sooner than expected.

I think Sanderson is the dark horse of the top 10, guy could go 5 or 10. Hes legit, I think byfield and Sanderson would be great picks

Right? A smooth-skating, hard-hitting RD is the ideal partner for a guy like Chabot

I'm pretty sure Sanderson is Dorion's backup if Raymond gets taken by Detroit, and although I think we need another LD, I'm not thrilled about it tbh. We have holes at 1C, 1RW, and 2LD. Byfield or Stutzle will solve the first problem, I would much prefer we draft Raymond or Holtz to solve the second one at 5, rather than Sanderson. 2LD is easier to fill with the NYI pick (Wallinder or O'Rourke) than 1RW (hope whoever we pick out of like, Foerster or Peterka, becomes a top line player). I doubt he would get paired with Chabot though, Brannstrom is a leftie that likes to play the right, and our 2 top D prospects are righties (JBD and Thomson) so he'd probably play 2nd pair with Brannstrom.

As for the team, I doubt we sign Barrie, especially to a raise, it doesn't really make any sense. JBD and Thomson will both challenge for a spot on the right side in 2021, Brannstrom and Zub (who you don't have here) will probably land spots this year. Markstrom also stays in Vancouver for that, I kinda doubt we go after him either because he'll be in his mid-30s by the time our window opens, it's probably best to just let our goalies develop this year (particularly Hogberg in the NHL, and Gustavsson in the AHL).

You'd take Sanderson over Drysdale?

I think it's almost confirmed that DET takes Perfetti, so much interest from both parties and Perfetti is buddy-buddy with the Draper's.

Holtz is severely overrated imo, he’s like jack Quinn to me he’s a great shooter and will develop later but he’s not a top 5 pick. It seems like Detroit will take perfetti at 4 so I mean I’d hope Ottawa takes Raymond at 4. He’s way better than holtz

I would go with one of Raymond, Perfetti, Rossi... as at D they are set for a while and many great option would be available 28OA: Ghule, Schneider, Wallinder, Poirier
