Smith is nothing more than a cap dump, if a 5th is the best the Rangers will do, they should get used to holding onto him for his last year.

That would be a steal for Calgary.

The whole point of trading Tony D is because we can't construct a team under this salary cap where our third pair D-men are making $5m+. So putting Dumba there doesn't solve the problem

EDIT: I like the Edmonton trade, though

my last post - everyone said AG for a 2nd was too much. now AG for a 3rd is too little. friendly reminder, we all are just on the armchair.

hes an expiring contract - theres not a big commitment to warrant a higher pick

smith is salary dump - yawn
AG is the "1" i am guessing
edm is about to cut AA so tony and a 3rd for klef, is more than fair
min - are trying to dump dumba and need help at center - rights to an rfa and a prospect is fair compensation

Sounds good, Toronto paid a 1st for $6.25M of cap relief, the Kings and teams with similar cap space will be looking for a 3rd or better for taking on $4.3M cap hit. Everyone is up against it a 5th won't get you much relief.

I think around a 2nd or 3rd is what other teams would be willing to pay for what they view as a good backup. NYR sees him as a 1A/potential starter so they’d probably want 1st+ which is why they decline
