How do we feel about Andersson tho? I'm not opposed to a rehab case if the upside is high enough.

He's more like a trade sweetener to me if I'm honest. Either that or a prospect swap candidate (if you would still call him a prospect). I like him and a change of scenery would be probably helpful, and possibly beneficial for him. But there's no reason for us to take on that risk for anything more than an sizable underpay. I suspect because of where he went in the draft, the Rangers will want something noteworthy in return if they trade him, and honestly based on his projection, I'm not sure why we'd take that gamble if they're asking for anything more than a 4th or 5th.

If Leafs get Petro and a crazy good D core but need to cut cost I'd take the SJ deal for Toronto, provided that we move Andersen

I would do a 2021 4th and a middling prospect for him.

That's pushing it imo but I might bite. Problem is I don't see the Rangers taking that depending on who that middling prospect is.

They need forward prospects, specifically ones that are guaranteed to be able to contribute at the NHL level even if they're just call-ups. I say Suomella fits that bill.
If Sumo's too old, then Chekhovich.

Now that they'll have Lafreniere they really don't need Andersson. So if DW can work out a deal, I think he should.

Honestly........I don't hate it.

Trouba looked bad this year but i've seen enough of him in WPG to know he is better than he played.

The only piece I really don't like is the Stephenson part. the guy has been really versatile for us.

No that's true and I feel like I'd probably be willing to do a trade like that. Problem with Sumo is that while he's more than capable of taking 4C/4LW minutes and doing well (Probably better with NYR than with SJS), he's not really a prospect. Like you daid he's a bit old. Chekhovich I think would entice them more, but if we did that then no more Chekhovich for SJ...And I like him lol frown

I like him too, but there's way more upside with Andersson, and I think it's in SJ's M-O to go for the high risk/high reward rehab jobs.
Then, if they both work out, we would have both Andersson and Dahlen for the future, which would be kinda crazy.

TBH, I just chose Chekhovich sorta kinda randomly. Maybe one of the Russians? idk

True. High risk high reward. But honestly that's a risk I'm willing to take. Andersson in a middle 6 C position and Dahlen in a middle 6 LW position would be elite. Man I'm salivating thinking about that haha.

Right?! They're a little soft, but if they skate like deer then that softness won't matter. I also feel like DW's trying to build a mostly skill-guy team, with EK65 as the LeadSwede. Dahlen's edge work is something to behold.
