Clutterbuck, Aho, 2nd for Erne? That's not bad for NYI. I'd do that.

He absolutely is. He's had a rough two years.

2018-19: New contract, gets hurt, Devon Toews gets called up and steals his spot. Hickey has no chance to get it back, not because he's not good, but because our other LHDs are superior (Pelech, Toews, Leddy).
2019-20: Loses a numbers game because of Dobson needing to be in the NHL vs. sent back to Juniors. Gets hurt in the AHL, the Pelech gets hurt, and the Isles trade for Andy Greene. Around all this happening, Hickey's brother died of cancer in Calgary and that obviously put him in a terrible place mentally.

He's definitely a bottom-pairing defenseman in the NHL. But obviously he's not worth a 2nd round pick. That's ridiculous.

Not sure rebuilding teams should be trading second-rounders for multiple years of 30+ year-olds. What was your logic in the Kings doing this?

So what you are saying is he wasn't an NHL player this season. Who would he play over in TO? Not Rielly or Muzzin, highly unlikely he'd beat out Dermott and I doubt he'd hold a candle to Sandin or Lehtonen, who are all lefties as well. He is worthless to TO

I'm saying he wasn't an NHL player this season, but if you understand the context you'll know why. It has nothing to do with his abilities and everything to do with a numbers game.

I also did not once mention the Leafs in my post, I wasn't addressing that and this isn't my AGM.

Kinda seems like he didn't make the cut, because better players made it over him. It's sort of like saying Marincin is absolutely an NHLer but just had all these other NHLers ahead of him because of the numbers game.

I'm not comparing him to anyone other than the competition he had in front of him. If you don't like/want Hickey, that's your opinion. But it's factually incorrect to say he's not an NHLer. It's not like we ever had worse defensemen in front of him.

It actually is factually correct to say currently he is not an NHLer. That much you yourself has confirmed

Wait a minute, you're dumping $10.5mil on the Kings and expect to a get a 2nd back? And one of those players doesn't even warrant NHL minutes anymore. Holy smokes, pass what you've got. It's been a long day at work and I could use the distraction.

I'll give you a like for staying level headed. I about spit my drink out when I saw this, from a Kings fan perspective.

Honestly, I just want an answer. I keep seeing this and one for Hornqvist, I just don't get their logic behind it.

Cuz there’s so many leafs posts with them it’s impossible to ignore. Half of the recent ACGMs I see are leafs posts. Not anyone’s fault, it’s j how it is. The fact there’s more of them makes it more annoying
