He's not. I'll bet on Canes taking the guy 13th overall. They're lacking a future G.

Kapenen set an absurd market. Don't be shocked if a 2nd heads the other way

Well if you think we can get a 1st.... but I’m thinking a 2nd or something if similar value.

He's worth a third. Not as impactful as Kapanen

Yes Kapanen is super awesome at taking low percentage shots and wasting possession. There’s a reason Johnsson was on the top line and Kapanen the third line.

Kapanen did finally start to get better and curl back and find trailers. If you watch enough leafs games would see how much better Johnsson was.

Kappy certainly has better wheels and a higher ceiling. Think that’s why you get more, but Johnsson should fetch a 2nd or why bother trading him.

Fair points but Johnsson didn't put up great numbers on that line. I'm not a Leafs fan, just looking at his stats

The Leafs bother trading him because they need cap space and Johnsson is an easy way to clear a good chunk. I don't think a second is out of the realm of possibility but a third seems more likely given his injury. Its also folly to compare a Johnsson trade to Kapanen. JR drafted Kap and is friends with his dad. Props to Dubas for getting that haul back but I don't think that was the market, that was JR being a tad impatient.

Just a wash of a season for him. Broke his leg blocking a shot then came back and hurt his knee. The entire team was pretty bad under Babs at the beginning.

Didn’t really have any chance for flow to the season.

The good news is that real Gm’s have scouts with reports on players. Johnsson is a lot like gourde but on a 3.4m contract and a pretty good excuse for a poor season.

Any team that grabs him for a second will have a surprised fan base. He a support player for sure but with skill and smarts. He doesn’t coattail talent he compliments it.

That trade is with in the realm of Hall for Larsson. Its not quite there, but its darn close...aka...cant be the baseline for any trade. Credit to Dubas for sure.

If you’re not going to get proper compensation you keep him. When he puts up 50 points next season you move him. Maybe even at TDL.

Unless you absolutely have to move him. Which would mean a great deal in an rhd. Dubas is pretty smart with asset management.

Doubt he's available at 15 both Edmonton and Carolina pick first and would have interest - also I'd stay away from Goalies in the 1st rnd they are vodoo (Jack Campbell was 11th OA) just for reference

I mean they took Kochetkov last year and they still have Nedeljkovic so they might pass.

Also Holl is not worth a 3rd+4th, he is bad, Muzzin carried him. He’s worth a 5th or 6th at best

We know he's so great , that NYR would never move on from their 13th F

You should work for TSN as an analyst.

Edit: Don't get too mad at that; I'm just busting your balls. I often find your comments well reasoned and insightful.
