I think the market is tough right now for Freddy, because you have Lehner, Markstrom, Holtby, at this point in negotiations Crawford, Khudobin, Jimmy Howard, all on the open market and Murray, allegedly Kuemper, and it looks like Reimer all vying for some playing time. The only goalie who could potentially end up getting a bigger return than Andersen is Kuemper, due to his extra year of control. I think if anything, Dubas waits until Murray and/or Kuemper get dealt before seeing the market on trade partners for goalies, but by that time I dont think anyone else will have the need to trade for a goalie. So for the time being, Freddy probably doesnt get a 1st, or atleast not yet. Teams could get desperate if they dont land their guy, but i doubt that team is Chicago (plus our cap situation does not reflect kindly on this trade)

i could see where ur coming from absolutely but i put it into perspectiove of them wanting to try to go for 1 last run with the toews and kane guys as the main guys because most likely the younger guys will step up sooner rather than later

Yeah I feel that. I think they do, but based on the offer they gave Crawford and how they didnt want to budge for a 1 year deal, they probably feel that the cap space isnt that flexbile. Tried to give a more general analysis than individual team comments because there are other teams that could probably fit the same bill. Nashville might be 1 of them if they decide they dont wanna hand the reigns over to Saros yet, but i do not wander into their comments sections a whole lot so dont @ me on that one.

i could definitly see the preds being in on goalies aswell considering how terrible saros was in the play ins this year

At that price, hawks would definitely be better served to go after kuemper or markstrom, let alone crow.

Hawks easily pass. A 1 year rental does nothing for the Hawks and Crow was better this season then Anderson so why would they not just pay $5M to Crow and save the 1st and 3rd? The answer is they would. Anderson needs to go to a bonafide cup chasing team, the Hawks are a borderline playoff team.

Disregard value, or even need...every team in the league exists solely for the betterment of Toronto.
