Don't think Vesalainen works positionally at all, Gauthier is a better player right now. But the value is pretty good.

Hank trade looks good too value wise.

Why would the Kings trade for Hank?

Yeah that 0.01 SV % increase from Quick (who SUCKS), is really worth taking on $5.5M to move down our second to a third-rounder and give up a fourth.

But come on! The 3rd and 4th rounder and taking on $5.5 mil is totally worth it! Just think about it from the perspective of the Rangers...it's a good deal for them so LA should take it.

Well, hockey is about the friends you make along the way and not about competition in any way, so ok! we'll do it!

I bet you could get Petro to sign for, like, $20 and all the MSG pretzels he can eat!

Quick does not suck. He had a rough start to last season, but in 2020 he had a 2.27 GAA and .923 SV%. Well above average in the league.

Petersen is NHL ready now. He had 3 years of NCAA, 3 years of AHL, and parts of 2 seasons in the NHL, filling in for injuries and stepping in as full time backup after Campbell was traded. He could be the starter this season, but the Kings will likely give Quick one more year as starter before they transition that job to Petersen.

If Lundqvist didn't have a full NMC, the Kings would consider taking him as a cap dump if the Rags were willing to offer up a draft pick. He could serve as a mentor to Villalta and Ingham in Ontario. Who better to learn from than the King. Since he does have a full NMC and likely isn't amenable to spending the final year of his career in the AHL, I don't see how this trade would work.
