Didn't PIT Athletic say today that a ton of teams are calling about Rust and PIT is considering it if the package is right. Honestly, PIT should move him while his value is at an all time high. There's no way he gets close to replicating what he did this last season.

Yup. I did an armchair earlier based on that article. Here is a quote:
Quoting: Rob Rossi and Josh Yohe
Rutherford would be open to a deal if the return was significant, and the league sources said any trade would need to net the Penguins at least an NHL-ready player and a top prospect.

I can't imagine ANY Pens' fans wanting to move Rust, but if that's the reality, then there's nothing wrong in seeing what that may look like.

Trading Rust doesn't make our team better it makes us worse. What value do we get back for Rust? Someone that is cheaper with same production? Why the H would that team trade that player than??

Nobody is disagreeing you, buddy. A Rust trade is a no-win for the Pens. Yohe and Rossi explained they believe Horn can step up in his spot. The trade I proposed was Acciari and FLA's top prospect Denisenko who's a RW. I think something along those lines is the best you can hope for. Believe me, this is frustrating as heck. Rutherford wants Chris Tanev and I doubt anything stops him in moving out whatever he can (except for JJ of course) to make that happen.

The best option for this team at this point is to move JJ and use that plus $1M to sign Tanev (if he really wants him).
Put MCann and Poulin as wings on 3rd line and sign 3C.

Again, nobody is disagreeing with you on that either, but that's not the reality. JJ isn't going anywhere while Rutherford is GM and fans need to reserve themselves to the fact he's here for at least another season.
