Leafs pass.

Also, when did Alzner suffer a LTIR injury?

Habs could add some picks in, Leafs get good 2nd pairing defence options, with petry proving he can be a first pairing defenseman. Alzner is put in ltir to bury his contract, there are obviously other ways for the habs to bury him.

Only trade Montreal accepts here is the first trade.

If that's all Danault wants, then Montreal resigns him unless this is at the TD and it's established that Danault doesn't want to return

Why would Montreal trade Lehkonen + Byron + Weal for negative value? that makes no sense

Whats wrong with the trade? Winnepeg gets its number one or two center in danault, who has lots of potential in term of scoring. If they don't have to give up one of their good players to get him, why wouldn't they?

Also, as a side note, with domi signing long term, Danault is not needed so it would be better to get rid of him now and get rid of this year's cap hip to make room for another player.

Most Habs fans dont agree with this gentleman.
Domi is not a replacement for Danault.
Nobody is close to replacing Danault or Petry.
Maaaybe Suzuki in a few years.

All 3 teams decline.

Petry is not even in the same conversation as Nylander unless Domi and a 2nd is coming as well.

A 2nd doesn't get you 7.2 million in cap space.

If Danault signs for 5.5 keep him and not sign Pietrangelo. Habs need offence so adding a guy like Krug would be a better fit cause he's a lefty and costs less and a Krug-Weber pairing sounds dangerous to me...

naw.

Petry is good player, but he's 32 years old, and is a UFA at the end of next season. you're not getting willy with petry as the main part of the package

Then we don't get rid of cap space. Edmonton should dump McDavid to "Get rid of cap"

Because 10OA is worth more to Winnipeg than Danault. Danault may get a late first, but not a top 10 pick.
