Habs could add some picks in, Leafs get good 2nd pairing defence options, with petry proving he can be a first pairing defenseman. Alzner is put in ltir to bury his contract, there are obviously other ways for the habs to bury him.

Whats wrong with the trade? Winnepeg gets its number one or two center in danault, who has lots of potential in term of scoring. If they don't have to give up one of their good players to get him, why wouldn't they?

Also, as a side note, with domi signing long term, Danault is not needed so it would be better to get rid of him now and get rid of this year's cap hip to make room for another player.

If Danault signs for 5.5 keep him and not sign Pietrangelo. Habs need offence so adding a guy like Krug would be a better fit cause he's a lefty and costs less and a Krug-Weber pairing sounds dangerous to me...
