You're betting on both Fleury and Marchessault waiving, but I'll play along and say they do.

The value is horrid. Marchessault is among the best in the game at generating meaningful offense, even with mediocre shooting talent. Everyone who plays with him sees a bump in shot volume and quality scoring chances.

The Knights moving fleury and paying someone to take him is most likely about creating room to keep guys like Marchessault, so a deal like this doesnt really improve their roster. A better idea is something centred around Hutton and Fleury and adding picks on either side to balance it out.

Montour's not very good either but Id believe Calgary would do something like that thinking he'd improve there (he might )

I don’t like that first being pushed to 3 years down the road AND having to give up next years second. Still this is much better than all the Tuch trades I see from buffalo. If we are serious about Pietrangelo, this is how to do it

Dont get me wrong, the idea is good (upon back reading I was unfairly harsh) but its kind of like someone taking on Okposo's deal for the price of grabbing Reinhart. Like if the Sabres are gunna spend assets to move KO, it's probably to ensure there's room to add and keep Reinhart.

There was supposedly a deal in place for Marchessault at the deadline and he wouldn't waive. I doubt he waives now.

Assuming Fleury waives, would he waive his NTC and go to Seattle or would he not want to be on an expansion team again and we'd lose Ullmark? My bet is he'd refuse to waive and we'd be screwed
