Boeser and Eriksson for Severson and Schneider

Created by: hockeybadger
Team: 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 22, 2020
Published: Sep. 22, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- Chats aren't looking good between Marky and Management <-- Dhaliwal
- Same with Tanev, except Pittsburgh is looking at signing him for $25M over 5 years <-- Dhaliwal
- Eriksson has $8M and Schneider has $16 in actual salary over their final 2 years
- NJ is looking to cut serious salary
- If this trade doesn't include a 2020 pick then they can wait till after Eriksson's bonus is paid
- Eriksson's remaining salary would then just be $5M
- Benning wants to recoup a first and/or second in this year's draft
- With the cap space remaining, Canucks can sign another goalie with the remaining cap as insurance in case Schneider can't bounce back

Would you accept the Devils 18th pick instead of 7th, if the Devils don't include Schneider in the deal?

Why is there a 1st going to Vancouver? That seems to be a pretty reasonable trade without the pick included.

All signing bonuses were paid on July 1. That was a sticking point by the NHLPA in the CBA extension.

I think it would be close, definitely a trade decision on the draft floor (or virtual lobby lol). But I would probably do that.

Man I would love to have three picks in the first round! (Lucky!)

I would say that Eriksson and Schneider cancel out or leans in Canucks favour because of the money that gets paid.
Boeser is worth more than Severson, so maybe one of their later firsts?

Not that lucky, the only reason we have 3 picks is because we're terrible lol

I agree that Boeser has more value than Severson, but not to the tune of a 1st round pick. Severson is a young quality RHD signed to three more years at a very team-friendly term. His position alone carries a premium. Make it a 3rd round pick and it's reasonable. A 1st is asking too much.

VAN is not moving Boeser. But fair deal regardless.

He is only 23 and still getting better. Also he is Pettersson best friend. I don't see Benning moving him regardless.
