As a Sabres fan, just curious.... why do Caps fans seem to ready to ditch Kempny. Wasn’t he a top-4 Dman when you won the cup? He’s not expensive or old. What’s the problem?

After getting injured last year he has struggled to reach the levels that he played at during the cup run. If he is completely healthy and under a new coach I think he could reach those levels again, but for the past two seasons he has played more like a 5/6 than a top 4 player.

He tore his hamstring before 2019 playoffs and has not been the same player since. plus the Capitals have Fehervary waiting for a spot who has been much better. I would imagine they try to move Kempny for cap space to sign a RHD and have Orlov, Siegenthaler, Fehervary on the left and Carlson, Jensen and a FA RHD as their top 6. Or move one of those to the right and Re-sign Dillion.
