I just think there will be a stud that will dip to 12 (Askarov, Lundell, Jarvis, Sanderson) that won’t be available at 15, just thought that was more valuable than like the 3rd rounder you’d get for him otherwise, but I doubt Florida does it.

I don't understand why the Leafs would do that Manson trade. If DeMelo is that good, he gets more than 2.5m as RHD UFA.

Moving up 3 spots in the draft costs a 2nd round pick.

Johnsson is not worth a second round pick.

Florida declines, but also on the notion that they're looking to shed money. Johnsson would be more valuable to them next season than this year, assuming you were taking some kind of cash back.

Fair point, again I’m thinking of this in the case that Hoffman and Dadonov leave, which would be shedding money, but I think you’re prob right

I think they should do it if that deal comes to them. You're moving down three spots in a draft where there's a lot of differentiation in rankings after the top 10. If you're Florida and are losing two top six wingers this offseason, moving back three spots to get a complementary guy to plug in there and (in all likelihood) still getting the guy they wanted anyways is a smart move. Especially considering they seem like the team that's gonna want Kaiden Guhle
