Ummmm Marner isn’t a cap dump...I don’t think one first and two ‘good’ players gets it done.

Also dubnyk is not their starter, he played terrible last year and lost his job to Stalock, he’s not gonna cost that much, not really much cost at all to acquire, the leafs just lose these trades badly

Mangiapane is a fantastic player , Bennet I agree mediocre during the season but brings it in the playoffs, and ya it's a mid 1st but in order to sign Pietrangelo I had to move 9ish million dollars so I did that while maintaining depth and the signing clearly an improvement. Dubnyk deal needed a little more flexibility to balance out the roster, I honestly believe the long-term goalie situation is Campbell as the starter so I moved Freddie gained a couple million and brought in Dubnyk who has had in the past good to great seasons after a bad sure it's a risk but I do believe moving out a F 20 games in to save the net if needed won't be all that difficult

Absolutely atrocious. Mangiapane is a solid player but hes 24 and just had his first full season in the NHL. Bennett had a good playoff round, but is overall a huge disappointment. He is a decent third line player who has some potential to play center if needed.

Trading a star player for spare parts so you can commit to an aging player and signing him form 31 to 38 is insane. If you are dead set on trading marner you need some young star potential coming back not borderline 2nd/3rd liners and a mediocre first.

Im also a flames fan and would make this trade all day, everyday from their perspective.,

I made a post from the flames side and there was an incredible amount of movement needed just to fit Marners in under the cAp while maintaining a 21-23 man roster, it was quite difficult for Calgary to make this work
