You think? Montreal gets younger and gets more potential in the trade

I think both, probably. Edmonton has pretty limited cap space as it is, and adding Byron leaves them with too little flexibility. Montreal probably wouldn't want to trade a decent bottom six player for an offense-only player whose a liability without the puck.

If Montreal really wanted AA, there's rumors that Edmonton won't offer him a qualifying offer. He could probably be picked up pretty easily then.

I'd take it, then immediately non-tender AA. Gets you out of 3 years of Paul Byron's contract.

AA might thrive in Montreal though, so maybe I'd offer him a contract. Guess it'd depend on if I could convince any UFA's to come north.

Bergevin really likes Byron, he gave him that contract, Byron is assistant captain and a good veteran

AA is too bad defensively

I think the value is fair but Bergevin clearly won’t do this

Edmonton declines why would we take on money just sign AA younger player with up side not trading that for a bad contract and a player that’s only healthy 50% Montreal fans can stop trading him to Edmonton no one wants that contract.
