LAINE TRADE

Created by: BJ22
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 23, 2020
Published: Sep. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Laine Trade - Jets need quality, not quantity. This proposal offers them a future 2C, a replacement W on the second line and a 1st Round Pick this year. These are the only three pieces that’ll get a trade like this done.
NYI Trade - Jets get a future top 4 RHD. Islanders can use the pick to select a scoring W to pair with Barzal, hopefully Holtz or Quinn.

Is Laine REALLY worth that much? He only scores, he can't make plays. I would say the Canadiens would keep Suzuki over Kotkaniemi

Montreal finally has depth at centre something they haven’t had their not trading 2 centres for a winger no way Montreal makes that trade
Islanders decline as well they have cap problems not trading a nhl ready d that makes 950k

I can understand wanting to get that much for Laine, but if thats the asking price he wont be leaving the Jets, no one will pay that much for him knowing hes going to be asking for 9-10 mil after this season.

It’s not even what Laine will command contract wise. I know he’s a stud but I can’t imagine Bergevin trading Suzuki or Kk for anyone at this point. They’re on ELC contracts and heading for stardom

Suzuki is already a #1C
Suzuki vs Laine straight up would be fair but MTL rather have Suzuki over Laine

Isles easily decline. Noah Dobson is our most untouchable player behind Barzal

Suzuki is a budding 1C already, with potential to become elite. I don't think MTL does this 1 for 1, based off of how Valuable Suzuki is

Once again, what would you want from MTL for Laine? This offer included Suzuki and you still say no

He is one dimentional, but that one dimention happens to be a really important one in today's NHL: scoring goals. I don't think the Canadiens will get him, but playing along: Bergevin stated that Kotkaniemi, Romanov, Suzuki, Price and Weber are untouchables. We can debate the merits of that another time. Since they're not going, I would assume the Canadiens could offer Caufield, Kulak, Domi, Ylonen, and their first round pick (16th overall). Something in that ballpark. CERTAIN that someone craps on this because, Capfriendly.

IF the Jets are listening on Laine, they might at least consider this, as it gives them a second line center, an established NHL defensman, Caufield and Ylonen, along with a 1st. Hab haters will bash Domi's performance in the playoffs, and Hab lovers will talk about his merits in 18-19. None of this matters: He won't go anywhere.

I’d like to see stasny with a krebs sweetener, over selling any of the kids, krebs could be next Suzuki, even buy Mcnabb if there serious about pietrangelo

Yes cause his assist totals going up this season says he's one dimensional, only scores and does nothing else, what a tired narrative.

Yeah I wouldn't touch Stasny unless we're getting compensated to take him or give something of almost zero value like an AHL player for him.

It doesn't fill team needs for the Jets. If Montreal sends Suzuki, then the Jets have no need for Domi. It would need to be Romanov or Brook or Harris instead. If the Jets trade Laine it is to fill a couple team needs, not just move the hole from center to wing.

My round about way of getting krebs out of Vegas, flat cap so would be nice to gamble on someone couple years older than 10 over all

What do you think 10th pick, roslovic and poolman worth, for a team trying to cut 3/4 million and take a run at hall or pietrangelo or buy there own rfas, I was thinking that 5/6 million player?

He did. However, the general consensus is that he's more of a goal-scorer. While he is actively working towards becoming a more complete player, most pundits would agree that his main dimention is scoring goals. I apologize for not looking at the statistics before posting, as it seems that my pos may have offended you.
