LAINE TRADE

Created by: BJ22
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 23, 2020
Published: Sep. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Laine Trade - Jets need quality, not quantity. This proposal offers them a future 2C, a replacement W on the second line and a 1st Round Pick this year. These are the only three pieces that’ll get a trade like this done.
NYI Trade - Jets get a future top 4 RHD. Islanders can use the pick to select a scoring W to pair with Barzal, hopefully Holtz or Quinn.

What do you think 10th pick, roslovic and poolman worth, for a team trying to cut 3/4 million and take a run at hall or pietrangelo or buy there own rfas, I was thinking that 5/6 million player?

Well who are you thinking of?

To me that 10th overall pick should be pretty valuable to the Jets and so should Roslovic, wouldn't throw him away just yet, think he took some strides this season, as for Poolman I don't think he adds much for trade value. I just don't know what that package would get and to part with that it better get something damn good with term or an RFA that can be signed long term cause they're pretty valuable assets to the Jets, just don't know how much value they have in a trade though.

Depends on your thoughts as Nylander as a center, or moving coutiere with ghost and Patrick, obviously some adds, but moving a great contract for two bad ones and can offer another bad one this offseason lol, a start to a sergachev/cirelli/Cernak, not all but some. Couture or kuzy, usual jet adds I dream of lol

Idk, a lot of those guys I just don't see getting traded, Tampa won't lose Cirelli or at least I highly doubt it, getting Cernak would be great though, a big physical RHD to play with Morrissey is exactly what the Jets need.

Some Islanders fans on here yesterday were suggesting that they use Mayfield to dump Hickey and I thought that might be a good move for the Jets if the Isles were willing to go down that road.

I think of the long list of UFA dmen and after looking at the cap space that teams have which isn't much I'm starting to think there's going to be some decent players that might have to sign some pretty cheap deals if they want to find a job next season.
Maybe I'm out to lunch but there isn't many teams with cap space plus if the rumors are true of some teams having internal caps then where do these guys sign? Not that I want the Jets to sign him but Bogosian looks like he may have salvaged his career with this nice run he's had with Tampa but who is going to have cap space to sign him and for how much?
Tanev, Shattenkirk, Vatanen, Schultz, Barrie, Brodie, Hamonic, Gudas, Dillon, who is going to have cap space to give these guys what they probably want?? Pietrangelo is the big prize obviously and Krug as well but what about all these guys, still some decent hockey left in some of them and the Jets are one of the few teams with cap space, gotta think they'll be able to grab one or maybe two of these guys for a reasonable price.
Then there's guys like Gustafsson, Merrill, Pysyk and Forbort who are UFA's as well, those are more of #4/5/6 guys but they'd be good depth adds.

Idk, just seems like they should be able to stabilize this defense through free agency and having one of Heinola or Samberg make the team which seems likely, I just don't know if there's a deal worth parting with the 10th overall pick for, a while back I would've been for it but after watching these playoffs I think the Jets are too far away and are better off keeping their higher valued assets.

Good call, I just keep reading all these cup dream posts from jets fans, and struggle with the buy now for the vets, or trade back for the kids, I definitely don’t want to trade the kids for limited team control players that need to be protected in the expansion draft. Ideally the jets are a rhd and lhd sergachev, and another scheifele away from being legitimate Stanley cup contenders and I don’t think are vets have the time to wait through draft and or the fact the vets will keep team up bubble level makes it more increasingly difficult. I kinda wonder if the players bet on themselves short term and go bargains to contenders or go most cash guaranteed route. It will be interesting, the jets are at least one legit legit dman away from being in the conversation and possibly 2 and a 2c away from a legit cup run, but 10 oa and the right free agency could close the gap.
