The AP shuffle

Description
Following on Lebrun's take that Vegas could make an AP deal work, here is my attempt to see how it would work.
Being a MTL fan, I'm bias in making the Tuck deal work in their favour but I can see Vegas gaining AP and losing Tuck as a fair trade off.

I am a Hab fan and no Tuch won't be the one that should move... and not for a pair of 2nd
I guess Stastny for any team that are in need for a 2C like Buffalo, NYR, CGY... not naming Winnipeg as it didn't work first time.
Col won't give a 1st in helping a direct contender in helping them getting Pietro... one 2nd is WAY then enough

Tuck no. You made room by trading a 2.5m defenseman and kept Stastny and Marchessault and move one of their best young forwards locked up long term. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Also that forward lineup is God awful and there's probably 10 better options for backup over Lindgren.

No one is giving you a 1st for freaking MAF, you're gunna have to pay to move him.

Also rights go for like a 4th usually, you wont have to pay that much.

Finally I would assume Smith/March are the ones to get moved before Tuch.

If Lehner and AP are on the Vegas roster next year, the 3 names that are likely moved to make that feasible are Fleury, Stastny, and Marchy. I love all three of those guys but I don't see any other way. Tuch would require a hell of a return that most teams will not want to pay.

Wait. You want the Avs to not only take a cap issue off your hands so you can sign Petro but you want them to give you a 1st for the pleasure of doing so? I don't know what to say other than, "Hard pass."

Not really. If you really, really want AP, you have to shed salary which means you need to give away some guys and you can't ask for much in return because they're making it possible for you to sign the guy you want. You have to ask for less than you would for a hockey trade when you're trying to dump salary.

Time will tell, right? The next few weeks will be crazy and I'm sure we should all expect the unexpected. I personally don't think AP is coming here and the media is just playing it up. A team like Winnipeg should be making the biggest pitch to land AP if you asked me.

I think he'll end up in St Lou. I seriously doubt he'd even consider Winnipeg but maybe if they offered enough money.
