So my thinking is, John Moore would easily be an upgrade over MacDermid, even though their styles are different. I just think Moore is established and can be beneficial for LA. Although Moore is a serviceable #5-6 dman, his contract is the reason he's getting dealt. LA has the space to take on another dman, especially if he'd be an upgrade.

I don't know if it would take Moore and Kuhlman to get it done, but i threw in a third round pick (even though I still think that's giving up a tad bit much for cap space). I truly believe I'm giving up a lot in Boston's end, almost a tad bit too much. Maybe switch the third round pick into a 4th?

Moore- #6 dman for 3 years. Mobile dman who's a hybrid of a puck moving dman and a defensively minded dman.
Kuhlman- bottom 6 option for LA who's only 24. Very fast acceleration, north south two way forward. limited offensive ability. Can fit their system of those fast bottom 6 players they have.
a pick- 3rd round or 4th round for insurance of taking the Moore contract

FOR

Kurtis Macdermid- a #6-7 defensive, physical presence. 26 years old, Boston adds another sizeable defensive guy into the system. Replaces Kevan MIller's role essentially.

MacDermid is a young cheap physical presence set to be our 7th defenseman. Moore is basically a 5-6 bottom pair LD. We are pretty confident that Anderson, Clague, and Bjornfot will be our LDs at some point, the concern the Kings have is that none of those three will be able to eat 20+ minutes on Doughty's wing immediately. So Moore isn't the fit. Kings trades are more for obtaining a vet dman who still has a year or so in the tank with a bad contract OR obtaining a bad contract we need to buy out. So although the Kings would love a third, this isn't the right fit.

appreciate the feedback. I thought about this type of package the other day, but when I did it I could tell the fit seemed a little off. The part that seemed off to me was that I was taking away 6'4 physical dman and giving you a 6'2 hybrid type dman. Two completely style players that I don't think LA would be willing to move Macdermid. I see your point though, I'll keep that in mind going further
