Flower to Toronto

Created by: Juice
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 23, 2020
Published: Sep. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know the trades would all need some work. Specifically interested from the Buffalo crowd if a Freddy/Mittelstadt base for a trade would have any legs. Maybe with some conditional pick on Freddy re-signing and/or GP for Casey? I know you wouldn't want to give up on Casey for just 1 year of Freddy so interested to see what would need to be done to make it work.

If the leafs could get 2yrs of Flower for a lower cap hit than 1 more year of Freddy...I don't mind the tradeoff. If Vegas is actually considering a buy-out, trading him and retaining $2.5 is close to a wash in years 1 and 2 saves them cap space and $$ in years 3 and 4 of the buyout.

Do you mind firing back a counter? Does changing the 2nd to a 1st move the needle enough?

Wings pass, we don't want kerfoot, you can keep him and his cap hit. Rather have lgd for the season and trade him at the deadline for a 3rd

If we are retaining the buyout cost we aren’t going to give the higher pick there lol.

It would have to be a first and a RW or RD prospect. We have no need for Johnsson. If we are trading our only viable RD player we need to plug holes.

swap the 2nd for the Penguins 1st and it's close. would prefer a deal surrounding Nylander but if not would take 15th +

Buffalo doesn't want your garbage...he's hardly better than Ullmark.

They definitely don't want Rodrigues back.

Sabres definitely dont want Rodrigues back but I'd still take that if The Sabres are able to move out more salary. If not thats definitely a speed bump

I always liked erod but he's not at a level to trade assets for.
Buffalo needs a reasonably priced 2 year back up goalie...i mean why wouldn't we just trade for Fleury in this scenario?
Finally i would say if you want to trade mitts go for an offersheet. Its not like TO would be throwing him to the wolves like we did, would you give him 3mil for 5yrs? We might not match, if we do it could screw us.

Andersen is an upgrade on Ullmark. Some of your fanbase was higher on Rodrigues so he was a throw in as I'm doubtful the leafs choose to qualify him...if he's not of use something else could get plugged in.....people on here really need to focus on the main pieces of the framework....in this case...Andersen for Mittelstadt....b prospects or 2nd round and higher draft picks can get added to either side

You guys needing almost even money swap? I had another scenario where it was an Andersen-Risto based swap...lot of people are hot and cold on Risto either way.

Fleury has a NTC so could dictate where he goes in a trade scenario....no one knows if he'd really be willing to come to either of our teams. I could see a scenario where they buy him out and he signs for $1m to go back to Pittsburgh after they move out Murray.

As for Mittelstadt, what are you hearing on his asking price to re-up? What's the general feeling in Buffalo on him right now?

Buyout costs would apply over the next 4 years....if Vegas is even entertaining the thought of buying him out, you'd have to imagine they'd sweeten the pot on a trade that saves them the cap hit in years 3 and 4.

Its really all over the place, some want best value now before he's an official bust, others think he developed last year enough to be a middle 6 at least. Mostly the thought is sign him cheap and hope he shows development in AHL and comes up in January. He was going good in rochester before the shutdown. Thats why i think a cheap offersheet would be hilarious cuz it would send the whole fan base into a frenzy.

Thanks...sounds like he should be getting a 1yr 'show me' deal under $1m

Anderson is not an upgrade on Ullmark but they make a fine 1 2. I like Risto, doubt I'd give him up for Andersen.

I fully expect Mittelstadt to get $874,125, the minimum he can be offered
