Fair enough, I’m sure another team would take Sutter at just over 2 million per year for a decent pick

Same thing. And now it's worse since you added Benn; at least in the other trade we just wait until Tryamkin is 27 and he's gone

I think PIT declines due to receiving a better offer for Rust.

It absolutely does. A potential starting goalie and a 2nd round pick for a cap dump when detroit has millions of space available is absolutely fair.

How is it worse, I took out the 2nd from Boston’s side..Benn is only making 2 million for one more season and can play the right side, he’s a serviceable dman. But if you want take him out and slide in Tryamkin

It doesn’t. The value is a 1st and a 2nd to dump Eriksson.

Not that cap dump. For comparison, Carolina got Teuvo Teräväinen for a 4.5 million cap dump of Bryan Bickell (with only 1 Year on term). Toronto got a 1st for a Patrick Marleau cap dump at 6million (1 year on Term). Loui has 2 years term left at 6 million. This is the price of dumping massive contracts. Vancouver has to pony up if they want to dump Loui on Detroit. It's a 1st or a top prospect starting price. DiPietro is not a top prospect. He's mid range. If it were a 1st and DiPietro it's a deal...If it's Podkolzin, it's a deal.

Says who lmao you? It’s not a set value..This offer is pretty much two seconds because I’d easily value Dipietro at a 2nd

Two points here:

1) Teravainen was not even close to the player he is now at the time of the deal, he underperformed in Chicago prior to being dealt.
2) The Marleau contract was an overpay imo. Benning already stated he wouldn’t add a sweetener or pick for anyone to even take Loui so this is just a pipe dream lol

I actually like Brandon, the Islanders always need another Sutter on the team...lol but they're right we're trying to dump salaries not take them on.

He's good on the PK but otherwise no. And we don't need 3rd pair D, we have enough top6 D.

Marleau was an overpay in your opinion? The Marleau trade is the the market regardless of your out of touch opinion. 2nd + DiPietro doesn't get it done...

I think anything beyond Carlo for boeser is just ridiculous.

Bruins have zero motivation to move Carlo. You gotta pay for the player+the potential, which, given his speed and recent tendency to jump up in the play more often, is formidable. In other words, it needs to be a significant overpay. This trade makes boston worse. They are in win now mode. It’s a hard pass, to the point where I think Sweeney would just cut off talks.

If Benning doesn't add sweeteners then the Canucks keep Loui at 6 million for the next 2 years racking up 10 goals a year...good thing they don't need to sign Pettersson and Hughes to new contracts next year and the cap is going to go up because there is no pandemic causing the economy to shrink ... oh wait...

Vancouver certainly has options other than trading Eriksson, but the team suffers in the short term.

VAN is not moving Boeser but Carlo would be involved in a potential deal. Penguins can get a lot more for Rust. Islanders are trying to shed salary so that doesn't make much sense. DET would ask for Demko if they are taking Eriksson contract.
