Prokhorkin signed in the KHL already so he's ineligible to sign a NHL contract for the 2020-21 season. HIs rights are worthless as he will be a UFA on July 1, 2021, the next time he is eligible to play in the NHL.

Essentially this trade is a 4th round pick for Raanta. The Kings don't have any use for an additional goaltender as they already have Quick and Petersen signed (and waiver eligible) for the 2020-21 season. You'd probably be better off just putting Raanta on waivers and hoping someone claims him. The Coyotes would have to compensate LA to take his contract.

Why make the Detroit trade? I think Arizona is better off with Sucese over a 7th round pick.
