Description
I think this is a deal vegas would strongly consider. This deal allows them to sign Lehner with the 5 mil they ship out. With the down year and still big cap hit, Vegas will likely still have to add a sweetener to take Fleury. I think the canes would consider taking a chance only Fleury having a bounce back year.

Chicago the value may be way off, I wasnt real sure. I traded gardiner because he is an extra piece for the canes and Chicago could probably use a better puck moving guy behind Keith. Reimer i moved to Chicago because they currently do not have an established goalie on the roster. I am not sure what chicagos plan is there but I thought Reimer could at the least be a stabilizing force. The 1st rounder and Suzuki would get there attention I would expect.

What would need to be changed in the offer?

We don't want Gardiner (we have Keith, Maatta, De Haan plus a bunch of left handed bottom 2 line prospects), and we don't want Reimer (he sucks), that's a lot of cap hit for players that aren't useful to Chicago. Suzuki is somewhat interesting but he and a late 1st don't get you Cat.

I reason I traded you gardiner is because while you gave a few left shot dman you dont have anyone who can move the puck. Maatta and De Haan are both fine but you arent going to get anything offensively out of either. Reimer definitely doesnt suck he was very good for the canes this year. While he may not be a 1, but he is certainly a solid bet for 35-40 games. I would remove reimer and maybe add a 2nd rounder or something if that gets the deal done. Reimer is easy enough to move elsewhere

We have Keith, Boqvist and Ian Mitchell who are all puck movers; that's 3 out of 6 defensive positions. Don't want Gardiner but one of Skeji or Slavin makes it interesting of course.

Remier is too expensive for a backup.

Moving Fleury is not going to take Krebs or a 1st especially retaining salary. Vegas rejects easily

I really do not see there being a bug market for fleury especially at 7 mil. The krebs idea was just one i had seen several other people post. If vegas were only to retain 1 mil what do you think would be a fair trade. I would also upgrade the 3rd to the canes 2nd this year if need be

It doesn’t matter what you upgrade, Krebs isn’t going to be moved unless we’re getting back an instant starter at center....

Fleury will be moved, probably with a 3rd team involved. I could see him ending up in Carolina with ANA/DET/OTT retaining salary

No i wasnt meaning you had to include Krebs. I was just asking what Vegas sees as a fair offer

Honestly with how bad the management and coaching staff botched this up if we don’t have to give anything it’ll be a win for us. Now if we have to retain money then we are going to need something back, or more than likely involve a third team

Yeah i really dont see that happening honeslty. If another team is going to retain salary someone is going to have to pay for that. Personally I think the canes are interested in Fleury at 5 mil but i dont see them wanting to give up much for it.

With your defense infront of him, he’d be very very good

Yeah i agree with that he could be good. Its also possible that he is over the hill. I would be willing to take the chance on Fleury but like i said i would not give up a ton for it.
