Im not sure, not without going to far. I dont think lizotte moves the needle, and i dont want to move turcotte, kailyev, thomas and vilardi at all so kempe maybe but sabres dont need a mid 6 left wing and kings kinda do.

Kings don't consider. Rebuilding teams don't trade away 2nd round picks, especially the #35 overall.

Risto is not an upgrade over Roy and he's significantly more expensive. Kings wouldn't do that trade straight up.

Mittelstadt is worth a try to see if a change in scenery will help him, but he's not worth a 2nd, 3rd, & Frk.

Will simply add to @tkecanuck341 ‘s comment since he essentially took the words out of my mouth in regards to Risto and the 35th pick.

Lineup certainly looks a little out of place. In the scenario which the Kings acquire Mittelstadt, your lines probably look as such:

Iafallo - Kopitar - Brown
Kempe - Mittelstadt/Lizotte - Vilardi
Moore - Lizotte/Mittelstadt - Carter
Grundstrom(or a different in-house option) - Amadio/JAD - Wagner

Could be wishful thinking that Mittelstadt could slide directly into the top 6, but I think he’d be helped more with a skill player like Vilardi on his wing as opposed to what’s available in the bottom 6.

I agree roy is good and really he's what gets the deal done. In this scenario the kings are building offense through defense and they see potential in risto with good coaching while he plays behind doughty on the depth chart. Mitts could still be a legit 2c and that makes the deal look genius. I was really thinking cap dump with risto. Being this is a fantasy world can you see where im coming from? The kings have 2 2nds and a boat load of prospects coming up. I want to stabilize, this teams rebuild is done.

Yea, but this is a terrible value for LA. With Mittelstadt's performance thus far, he might be worth Lizotte and a late 2nd (i.e. the #60, not the #35). As you say, Risto is a cap dump, which means that for the Kings to take him, you'd have to subtract from the return, not add. I'd argue that due to Roy's exceptional season and high-demand position, Buffalo has to add in a Roy for Mittelstadt swap.

Oops i meant "not as a cap dump". I'm one of those rare folks who thinks risto gets good when he's removed from the Sabre Sh!+ storm. I think he could do well in LA, sorry bout that.

Drop the 2nd going back to Buffalo and this is a decently fair value trade. The Kings probably still wouldn't do it because they're high on Roy, but the value wouldn't be far off.

Unless you are Tim Murray then you trade them away like candy for AHL players and aging stars.
Remember how the Kings got 2 seconds and McNaab for Deslauriers and Fasching. McNaab would have been too much for them.
Then he gave away a second for Gorges. A player who could hardly skate he was so worn out from playing hard his entire career much like Mike Richards at age 30.
Later a third to talk to Jimmy Vesey.
Then a first for Lehner and a cap dump. Earlier this year AFTER Lehner proved he was a starter was trade for a fifth and a "C" prospect.
He was throwing away draft picks like used cigarettes.
After all of his trades Buffalo finished last in the Atlantic then last in the league. LOL
So you are 100% correct about trading away picks.

OK, thank you all for this great education.
I had no idea that Matt Roy was this good.
I am glad I read all of your comments first.
You definitely changed my mind about this trade.
