I think it's a fair trade for Rust based on his production but his offense will suffer without Crosby and Malkin but he would still be a great 2-way forward and fast

look at how Connor brown did in an elevated role in Ottawa. not saying rust is going to do Better in MTL than in pit, but 40-50 points is still reasonable

Rust is a career 30-35P player, gets some prime minutes finally with the big boys and he busts out.
what makes you think he suddenly elevated his game and doubled his goal and assist averages?... guy is a 3rd line player, and Montreal would give up another 3rd line player who's younger, and a prospect center.

No way. Rust never saw top 6 minutes or first unit powerplay before this year and still was on pace for 40-50 points in a third line role. He’d do the same on MTL. No way pens would ever trade him for Lehk and a 5h. Awful for Pittsburgh
