imo Jets say no to this, I don’t know how much risto actually helps our need at D, yes he improved but Jets need a shutdown dman not an oversized pionk. Also, copp is the Jets best defensive forward so they likely say no right there.

Chevy was almost willing to deal Ehlers for him last year. I have a hard time believing that his perception has changed that much to decline this offer now....

Yeah, but things change lol, I get that Chevy saw something in Ristolainen. But I’m sure, now with how everything has played out this year, he knows we need a shutdown guy, not another offensive guy. Ehlers for ristolainen might have gotten Chevy fired.. We struggled so hard in our defensive zones, I’d hope Chevy is smart enough to not move our best defensive forward for a dman that isn’t amazing in his own end lol.

I have yet to see a reliable source say that Risto for Ehlers was a thing.

If they are going to downgrade from Freddy, it's going to take more than Montour to do it.

Do you think you’re going to get a 1st round pick for Freddy?

I think if they move him, it's to try and chase a perceived upgrade at the position (Kuemper, Lehner, etc.)
Taking back Hutton in the deal (even with the retention suggested) hinders that, as they would have cap space tied up in two backup level goalies already.
So if they are going to be downgrading in G (i.e. taking Hutton back), they are going to need a hell of a lot more than Montour to do it.

Hutton has negative value for the Leafs in this scenario.
