Why, to buy in on the Markstrom hype train for no reason other than to validate the city because they were able to sign a free agent? Markstrom has plenty of other options anyway and is not the goalie Buffalo is looking for. That Tampa trade is horrific as well, Sabres trade the 2 best players by far.

I don't think Holland makes this trade. Oilers are trying to develop form within, there already talks about offloading a RHD to make room for Bouchard. I don't see the Oilers moving their most offensive D man in a good contract for a righty and a second even though the second definitely helps when it comes to conversation. No sure how Montour is as a puck mover but klef is the best the Oilers have. You know what what I meaaaaan?

Fair statements. Montour is a pretty solid puck mover... it's what he specializes in. I read an article about why the Oilers are supposedly shopping Klefbom and I think he'd be a good fit in Buffalo.

Ugh I know the Tampa trade doesn't look great but I was running on the assumption of keeping Pilut for the future which likely means moving McCabe for futures. Don't forget Sean Day was at one time a Tavares-rule player in the OHL and is still only 22 coming off an excellent ECHL season. Raddysh makes a difference in our RW depth too. I personally like Markstrom and think he's a great placeholder giving Luukkonen and Portillo all the time they need to develop.

Just looking at overall points I think losing those extra points klef gets hurts how the team plays overall. Oilers need to recoup picks but not at the cost of losing points in the standings at the end of the season. Plus what's montours signing for? Best guess? Just out of comparison, klefs on a good contract. Also I would like to hear what that article says just as an Oilers fan

Sean Day not only couldnt cut it in the AHL, he was terrible, why would I care about his OHL days as a 15 year old. Pilut is not interested in Buffalo, I know he wasnt going to return under Botterill but now hes back in Europe I dont see him returning to Buffalo for any reason, that is a very charred and smoldering bridge. There are plenty of free agents that can give Buffalo what Raddysh gives Buffalo

This was the article.
Montour's qualifying offer is only 3.525 and I could see him accepting that for like 3 years. He's coming off a down year with some injuries and he was stuck playing his offside so he might even take a bit of a discount.

Oilers decline, you cant have our number 1 D for another Defense, we already have a back log of them.

No way Edmonton considers that trade. They have a plethora of RHD.... Also we'd have to make the 2nd a 1st and add a prospect

Okay I did read that before. Makes sense but since I've read this I can see people have also out their opinion in. I think they are probably right but who knows really
