Not my team but yes. I’m bored at work but I’m a hockey fan thru n thru.

Both teams have their windows narrowly propped open. Same with my Bruins.

I think the Bruins have a slightly longer window than the Pens and Caps

I give the Bruins this next season and then retool the roster. That usually takes 1-2 seasons. Chara Krejci and Rask will be done I’d guess.

I think when you lose Rask it's over. He's a monster and IMO the reason you lost to Tampa.

Idk i think the Penguins window can still be open if they stop letting the GM make moves lol. This site keeps claiming Washington window is closing also but they have a few really high end prospects coming up mixed with Vets that dont look like that are aging poorly ( Backy still 70 point center, oshie 50 point winger, ovi ppg 50 goal guy, Carlson finishing high in norris votes) mixed with mid age talent Wilsosn Vrana Seigs Sammy . No reason why capitals cant win for the next 3-4 years

Yeah, if the Pens can stop the shenanigans I think we have another two more years. I think Goaltending may be an issue for you unless your new boy is legit. The other issues are other teams ascending. Canes, Islanders and Rangers are all on their way up.

i disagree. Islanders arent better than Penguins/Capitals talent wise. Caps and Penguins were out coached. Capitals improved on that this offseason. Rangers blow... they are only as good as Panarin and they better hope he doesnt look like he did in the playoffs... look at the Ranger LHD and tell me 1 NHLer. Canes are good but again they are beatable by either team. Sammy is good. Hotlby actually was still good but the teams defense wasnt/ we had a terrible stretch pass breakout that was predictable

I'm not saying the caps and/or pens aren't better than these teams NOW, but we're talking about over the course fo the next few years the power shift is going to change to those teams, so that's why I'm saying the Pens and Caps probably have another year or two in their window.

maybe ... Malkin was on a 110 point pace. if he stays healthy he might win the Hart this year lol. Rangers have a few young guys but idk how much stock i put into them. KK looked average at best LAff more than likely be good.. hard to say. Washington have Mcmichael Protas Alexeyev in the pipeline so im hopeful we will stay competitive. im more optimistic than i should be as a caps fan lol

The Rangers might push for a playoff spot this year, but I think they will leapfrog into a playoff lock the year after.

You feel the same way as we do with Poulin, Legere, Marion and POJ. Obviously they all have to pan out, but both of our teams will need more quality help as our top guys age. The Pens are such a weird team because if Sid, Geno and Letang go into beast mode they can take down anyone, but beast mode is less frequent for them nowadays. Sid and Geno will still put up top points for sure, but their ability to carry their team isn't as good as it once was.

I think the Avs are the team of the future. Not sure anyone is going to be better sooner.

need a goalie and hope that Bura doesnt pull a Washington. Avs imo are way too soft.... they look like the leafs. can win the games till the get pushed around. Need more Kadri type players

Zadorov Graves and E Johnson are all massive. They honestly could have beaten Dallas if not for injuries OR them them taking their foot off the pedal after they got the Go ahead goal in game 7.

Hard to argue that one, but if Rangers ( who trust me I hate saying anything good about them ) get a very good 2nd line center and Kakko becomes what they hoped? They are going to be equally as lethal. They're going to have better goaltending than COL. LaF, Zib and Panarin? If they get that solid 2nd line center for Kakko and Kreider it's going to be scary. Plus their D will be sick.

Zadorov is more than likely gone to make a roster spot. E.Johnson and graves are Dmen not forwards.. you need to spread to toughness

i would love to see them add a guy like Grant, Maroon, Rinaldo, Martin or trade for Tuch something like that. Cheap bottom 6 guys who can add a little offense and wear teams down

Not sure Maroon now. He has been to the SCF 2 years in a row. How much jam is he going to have for another Cup run ? I like the player. Matt Martin might be the way to go. Unless there’s a trade to be made.
