Laine to Phillyyy

Created by: jetter123
Team: 2020-21 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 24, 2020
Published: Sep. 24, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Frost is ready but is in a C log jam

Laine & Sanheim make up the key peices of trade woth Laine having a higher potential and proven goal scoring record with 40G+ seasons. Frost and Farabee make up the difference in value. Farabee could be replaced with a pick or other prospect but the Jets need a 2C and feel Forst could be that guy.

Perrault is dump with a pick for cap room.

JVR is sent along as a camp dump.

Sanheim is nice but an LD so not a need for the Jets. Frost is nice also, but his value is canceled out by getting stuck with JVR's contract for 3 years. Farabee isn't really a need either, so I think the Jets would the target someone else and a second is meh.

Laine for myers, frost, farabee, and a 1st and the jets think about it

Sanheim is a ld so he doesn’t do much long term, and jvr’s term is concerning

I'm sure you guys are right, but this is already a lot, and Flyers can't give up any more than that for Laine. In my opinion it's already too much. I'm looking elsewhere. Like I said I don't think what you are saying is wrong, but if I'm Chuck Fletcher I'm saying no.

The Myers, Farabee, Frost and 1st is absolute no way for us. That is just way too rich for my blood.

That's understandable, it is a lot to give up. But on the other hand the Jets have no reason to ask for or take any less at this time.

Farabee erases the need for dadonov, not that he is coming anyway, doesn’t sanheim prefer his off hand, until he was partnered with Myers. Interesting idea fill the three holes created by laine getting moved and some team control, sanheim being local probably a easier resign and big kid opposed to majority of jets blueline. 3 years of vanrymsdyk could be survived without the monster contract needed for laine. Don’t hate but always like to buy low on Patrick, my last image of Patrick was cant miss wheatking, so holding out hope, hextall should have sent him back to Brandon for his 19 year old season after injured draft offseason. But that may not have helped anything either

There's not a shot that Philly would do that. Sure Laine has a 40 goal season but that's two of our best young forward "prospects" and the only team controlled RD on the roster who's 23 and a first. I'm not saying that I couldn't see a team paying that high of a price but that is way too much of an ask for Philly to even think about it

You're absolutely right they don't have to but they are currently shopping him which means they want to move him. All of the pieces that you wanted as a return are not on the trade block except maybe the first the trade you proposed doesn't make sense for the Flyers to do. Honestly, sure it would be nice to have a guy who can put the puck in the net like him but he'd be hated in Philly on his first streak of going games with out scoring especially since he's pretty weak in the defensive aspect of the game.

The jets aren’t shopping him. There is no rumour that said that. They are listening to offers as they should be on every player, you never know when one might blow you away. I know all the pieces I wanted weren’t on the block but laine isn’t either.

Also btw, he isn’t bad defensively anymore. He has improved drastically and he doesn’t disappear for games on end anymroe

A lot of sources are saying that they are looking to move Laine including LeBrun. Considering his xGF is less than his xGA and his xGA is the highest it has been in his career I would have to disagree that he isn't bad defensively anymore. I don't watch the Jets enough to say if he fixed his effort but I feel like I've seen a lot of people still complaining about that this past season.

Lebrun said they are listening to offers, not shooing him. Like everyone else.

As for his goals against, he played a good portion of this year on the top line on a team that was terrible defensively. That’s what makes his ga so bad

As for his effort, ask anyone who has actually watched him play recently and they will tell u he has drastically improved. All those people who say he hasn’t actually seen him play recently and I’m not talking out of my a$$ here. I’m serious, people are talking about him like he hasn’t improved without even watching any of his games
