Ehlers. I’m going to be quite honest with you here, the Jets are most likely going to absolutely fleece the other team that trades for Laine. He is a third liner with an elite shot. He doesn’t do much to create his own chances. The insane improvement so many claim really isn’t true, he may have tried harder, but he is fundamentally bad at playing in his own end. Like the Connor-Scheifele-Laine line was so poor at defence that if you turned on a jets game, there was like an 85% chance those guys would be hemmed in their own end. Ehlers on the other hand is good defensively, an amazing skater, is on the level of Barzal in the transition, and is a great playmaker, and an above average finisher. He is a legit top line winger on an amazing contract.

That’s what I thought, but it seems like people r willing to give sm more for Laine than Ehlers. Also, I see a lot of people saying Ehlers for Pulock is fair but the islanders would need to add on a Laine for Pulock deal. To clarify, I personally wouldn’t give up Pulock for Laine, but I would for Ehlers

Yeah makes sense. A lot of fellow jets fans hate me for my takes but sometimes you just have to remove the blinders and realize that players aren’t as good as you want to believe.

Yikes you are extremely undervaluing laine.. you don’t trade a young elite scorer that hasn’t hit his prime and also hasn’t played with a quality C besides sometimes with scheif Just watch till he gets traded and actually gets a coach that knows what he’s doing.

He isn’t really elite though. His powerplay impact brings him up way higher. If he doesn’t play with someone that can feed him the puck, then he looks lost at times. Listen I wish he was amazing and all that but if you watch what he does, he simply does not make the impact everyone thinks he does. He is nowhere close to prime Ovi like a lot of jets fan think he is.

Never said he is or gonna be close to prime ovi also speaking of ovi he doesn’t drive his line either he needs someone to give him the puck but ok both at the same age laine had more goals again not saying he will be and really don’t think he will be a scorer like ovi but you’re being way too hard on him idk what jet games you watch but it’s not very hard to see...

You’re right, there are plenty of similarities between Laine and Ovi now. The difference is Ovi is 33 and Laine is 22, and Ovi is still a better shooter. However, when Ovi was Laine’s age, he could skate through entire teams and generate offence all by himself, Laine has never had that ability. Yes I am being hard on him because I am simply looking at his impact, which is probably like 4th most on the team. Scheifele, Ehlers, and Hellebuyck are all more important then Laine. Also, in Ovis first 4 years he had 219 goals and Laine had 138, so not really that close lol.

Wow you are all over the map I also never said he was the most impactful player ovi had highlights of going end to end and scoring but doesn’t do that on the regular laine has those highlights too u can’t say ovi drives a line because he doesn’t. yes scheif helle and ehlers have more impact idk what your point is??? Bring back ehlers scheif laine see what happens or atleast give him something to play with like I said when he gets traded you’ll see. Have you played hockey or watch hockey or do you just look at the computer at analytics?? Don’t know what your getting at you just don’t trade a elite scorer that hasn’t hit prime yet but that’s just me idk

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you lol I’m just saying if we’re able to get a ransom in return, I don’t see why you don’t do it, because it will help improve the team more then just keeping one guy. Also, yes I have played hockey for 12 years, yes I watch every single game, and yes I look at analytics. I’m simply just stating my opinions and I’m not expecting everyone to agree with me that’s just how I feel personally. To be honest, there is so much this team needs to fix but I would be here for hours talking about that.
