I like this team a lot but you’re giving up a lot of team control with Jones vs Laine. Jones could walk in 2 years where if we sign laine’s next contract it’ll probably be 6-8 years (plus this season)

MTL accept, although I think they might need to add a late 2nd.

Would they trade Werenski? Idk but I doubt it, gotta have more then one really good dman.

They should just sign Laine long term, this trade talk is really dumb, sign your star player Chevy!

Well, I dunno... Value is there, no question... But do we really need this kinda deal? I'm kinda hoping Habs do it the other way around: trade 3 good pieces to get an ever more important piece of the puzzle!

Again, my trade to make is Domi + Poehling + 2nd for a Top-6 scoring winger.

I dont think Chevy see's Laine as the guy he wants making 10 million + and thats where this trade talk is coming from, and its something i have to agree with. If Laine wanted Aho money I dont think there is a delay in the next contract but he wants closer to Marner money and I wouldn't do it personally

Yeah for sure that would be ideal lol but this isnt a bad trade for Domi. I would definitely rather use him in a trade for a top 6 but if they cant something like this would be nice.

It's an option, yes. But so is keeping Domi! If MB is true to his ways, he won't trade Domi just for the fun of it... And taking on 3 contracts vs just one doesn't help the Habs right now. Low number of contracts + cap room was a HUGE advantage for Mtl this off-season. We all saw what happened with cap room: it's all but gone!

My guess is Habs keep Domi if they can't package him with 1-2 other assets for a bigger piece. Then, they move a low-end piece at the draft to move up. Like a Mete + 3rd for a mid-2nd or something like that...

The only way Columbus considers moving either Jones or Werenski is if a to line center is part of the trade... otherwise it’s not worth it for Columbus to move them.

CBJ isn't giving up either of the star defensemen, and Savard is more of a pure rental. WPG has been linked to Murray but he's too injury prone and has just one year left so he won't be the centerpiece of the deal.

IMO there isn't a one-for-one type deal for Laine that makes much sense -- especially for CBJ -- but if you want a young, quality top four d-man with multiple years of team control… CBJ does have Gavrikov. Perhaps Gavrikov + Anderson + Bemstrom + TFW + 21OA for Laine + Roslovic? Fits the profile of recent star forward trades (multiple good-not-great roster guys, high-upside prospect, mid 1st) – doesn't fill WPG's need for a center but then again, that's CBJ's biggest need, too.

Gavrikov was super impressive this year, is still young, is set to be RFA but has a few more years before UFA status. Anderson has 30+ goal potential and plays a fast, physical game, but is coming off of injuries. Still, he's very highly sought after by GMs around the league. Bemstrom has potential to be a top six winger and with an elite right shot one-timer on the power play (filling something Laine does very well).
