I'd prefer Montour tbh as I think he has a more defensively sound game compared to Miller.

I stole that from a Leaf fan, I would be happy with moving either for Johnsson.

I figured. Maybe we get a mid round pick back to, I wanted to see what the offense and defense looks like. We needs so dickheads like Bortuzzo and Borowiecki

That lineup is definitely a big improvement over what we have today, and I like the thought you put into it. But I have 2 concerns:

1. I don't think this is a strong enough lineup to contend for a cup, and it shatters any sort of high-end prospect depth that we have. My fear would be that this team stagnates and slowly gets worse and worse until we eventually have to rebuild again.

2. This leaves us with $27.4M in cap space next offseason for only 12 rostered players, without Dahlin, Laine, Jokiharju, or any goalies signed. I don't know if we'd be able to make the cap work without shedding additional talent.

That's definitely a no from the Caps. They're trying to contend while they're window is still open, they're not gonna trade a key piece for picks and prospects.

Wow, Bobby Bortz for Casey Mittelstadt. That’s something I thought I’d never see.

Wise words.

I countered with Eller for Mitts+7th, here (https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1952509), but I agree the smart move for WSH is just keeping Eller.

Caps need to shred some cap.

Why are the Leafs giving up the pick? Add a 2nd rounder, and we consider

Not really. They’ll need to next year, but right now there’s no pressing need to dump contracts. Even if they did, Kempny, Hagelin, Panik, and probably Jensen would all go before Eller since they’d be much easier to replace.
