Way to little going back to Toronto, they are giving up a 1A goalie, a bottom 6 center and two prospects for a pick and and a potential player who may never make it.

Andersen only has 1 year left. Rodrigues, Bracco, Gauthier are all RFAs. Rodgrigues is a bottom 6 forward, Gauthier is a 4th line forward at best, Bracco has never played in the NHL and he's 23 years old and put up only 4 goals, 30 assists in 34 games last year in the AHL. Pesce would be a great defense partner for Rielly and the canes are interested in Andersen.

Pesce isn't coming that cheaply. He isn't even for sale, you have to overpay for carolina to move him. He would be a great partner for rielly but all those rfa's aren't worth more than a 4th combined and Pesce>Andersen in value

The canes could use some forward depth and need a better starting goalie. They need to trade a defencemen due to expansion and to save cap to re sign Svech and Hamilton next year.

f***. Okay what I was trying to say is that sure Pesce is a good piece going back but other than the value isn't there for Toronto. They lose a goaile and than have to trade for or sign one and they give up two bottom 6 players and a prospect for the hope that the 4th round pick in 2021 can make it to the NHL. Just dont see how this would even help outside of adding a RHD

Toronto doesn't need those RFAs, there are a lot more players they have for the bottom6 like Barbonov and Malgin and will likely sign Wayne Simmonds

they don't need depth, they need a 2LW. They could us an upgrade in net. They aren't trading pesce to avoid expansion. they would trade skjei and thats all they would need to do since they don't care if gardiner would be taken.

The need for a better goalie does not outweigh the trade value Pesce is getting nylander or there isn't a trade for pesce between toronto and carolina. Even if they needed depth players, (which they don't) they would sign one without having to give up assets.

pesce does not = Andersen in trade value. thats the problem.

carolina wouldn't want those depth players anyways
