Is this a playoff team

Created by: TMarch
Team: 2020-21 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 25, 2020
Published: Sep. 25, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tried to make the trades as real as possible (at least in my opinion).

Definitely not a contending team, but could they make the playoffs? The 3rd line is very unproven, and the 4th line is blah. And you have a reclamation project in Barrie.

Ekman-Larsson is worth a hell of a lot more than that.

Also, no this team would still probably end last in the division, probably are barely better than the Kings and maybe the Sens depending on what they do during the offseason. Bottom 5 still IMO

Not a chance that OEL deal happens. That is absurd. Honestly not even a point tweaking that trade, it would need to be vastly more going to the Yotes.

Also, Hall is not signing with the Red Wings, he's been on record saying he wants to go to a winning culture.

Without killing the entire future to make 1-2 years of 1st round exits, you're not turning Detroit into a playoff team.
