not if Pietrangelo is coming, they need to squeeze out everything from this team and taking only 700-800k guys

Blues haven't gotten a long enough look at Blais to consider trading him IMO. Johnsson probably the better player right now but I'd rather keep the cheaper option given our cap constraints; hopefully we can see what Blais looks like in a full season.

Probably not one for one. Roughly same age and Johnsson produces much more

Also depends - if blues end up resigning petro then they don't do it

the one i thought was interesting was Sanford + 88oa for Johnsson + 44oa. Both players have basically identical 5v5 production over the past 2 yrs, but Sanford is 1.9m cheaper and that cap space is gonna be key if the Leafs are going to make changes. I think AJ would be a good fit on the Blues and if they saw a player they really like in the 2nd round they could make a move to get that pick. Not sure if TOR would rather just get a pick for AJ though...

I think the Leafs would rather take a pick, take the full 3.4 million in cap relief and replace Johnsson from within (Robertson, Barabanov, maybe Rodrigues)
