The Wild waited five years for Kaprizov to get here. They aren’t trading him.

Bemstrom is more than we're willing to pay to help Tampa with their cap crunch. You can have a fifth-round pick.

And we'd give up a lot for him. But it won't involve or be Kaprizov.

Brisebois just needs to trade Killorn, Coburn retires, and convince them all to sign 1 year cheap deals. (Cirelli $2M, Sergachev $2M, Cernak $2M, Stephens, Schenn and Verhaege $1M)

Then pay Seattle to take Mcdonough, at which point Palat, Johnson are available and the room for the contracts will be there.

time to see how much everyone likes playing in sunny Tampa or if they want to go to cold ass Minnesota.

Uh huh.... it hit 82 today and was sunny. From spring to fall it's nice with plenty to do. It's just winters that are cold. Quite hating.

If any one of those things don't happen, your screwed. Good luck with that.

Tampa easily declines the Wild and Canes trades, and Columbus would decline the 3rd. Palat isn't waiving anyway, as Tampa will move Killorn, Johnson, Paquette and Coburn, which gives them enough space to sign who they need to sign and start the year with 21 or 22 depending on exact contact #'s. If Cirelli was to be made available, Tampa would get a better return(not saying Kaprizov isn't good, but not the guy Tampa wants/needs at this point).

How am I screwed?... i'm not a lightning fan.

Minnesota's effective tax rate also makes taking less in Tampa a viable solution.
Technically next year escrow is also at 20%, so, we're going to see a lot of players taking less money in Y1 of long term deals.
might be some added incentive to structure deals in a certain manner.
