Thats not getting Palmieri, no Chance NYR gives all that up, and why would Minnesota trade Fiala coming off a career year?

no way the rangers would give up their top center and future top dman for matthews and a goalie they dont need, they already have too many goalies

just my opinion, but given contracts I'd rather have Zibanejad then Matthews. And the fact that Matthews is probably going to Arizona when his contract ends while the Rangers will have a big chance to resign Zibanejad after his contract ends

given the rangers cap, they wouldn't take on an extra 6 mill for the same role
