He probably does, I agree, but evolving hockey has him signing just under 3mil per year so maybe it happens.

Also, SJ accepts. Solid roster! But Freddy's a backup? Not in the regular season at least!

He's worth about 3M but I can see him getting more because a lot of teams need RHD. On the other hand the Leafs are his hometown team so maybe he takes a slight discount to play there.

Only in a dream world does Bobby Ryan get 2 million from any NHL team. I think he gets league minimum with zero guarantees for a spot on the NHL club.

I think it all depends on the team as to how much money he gets ie: a team that is not going to contend might give him more but I can't see him getting any guarantee of playing time most likely if he doesn't work out on whatever team he signs with he'll have an opt-out clause
