Wow a Kings fan that makes more sense than most Islander fans on here...lol

Although just to nit pick a little bit. You have 42,500 in cap space with one spot to fill. We likely can't afford Cizikas at the end of the year and with a talent like Casey and his skill set you don't let a guy like that walk for free. Some of us learned from the Tavares fiasco. Interested?

Thats the most probable scenario IMO. That still seems low for Pulock, so he might go shorter term go cash out later or go longer for security

Could be easier to move Boychuk, Clutterbuck & Komarov in 21-22 with only 1 year left. Beauvillier and Pelech will eat most of the 11,8m left in 21-22 by themselves.

That's just it. I'd love to keep Casey but we have a bunch of RFA's next year to sign as well. Add Sorokin to that list. I have a feeling he won't be a bust and will demand a raise as well.

I rly hope this is all it takes to get it done but I think that it’s gonna take more to sign all 3 of Toews, Pulock and Barzal

Kings aren’t trading any of their picks in the first four rounds except to move up or down in this draft. I think leddy is what we need now and is probably worth a second or a third (not both). Bit also remember as your title indicates they are in a cap crunch and this is when you exploit that weakness. You take on Leo for Leddy for future considerations and you only make that trade if there are no better offers for high picks for cap space. This is a waiting game, there are plenty of teams against the cap, you take the best offer that bolsters our future two or three years from now.

True, I was more just gauging Leddy's value, after a great postseason I believe the price is warranted. Now if they were to take any heavy cap hits from the Isles, say a Komorov or Clutterbuck I definitely see it just being like a 3rd.

Yeah its gonna be extremely tricky, Kings are my favourite team, but the Isles have always been my 2nd favourite so I'm really hoping they can find the money to sign all 3.

Lool Thanks man. Also an Isles fan as well as Kings fan tho. Started watching the team cuz of Tavares but so many others have really become fan faves for me so I continue to constantly support them.

As for trading Cizikas, I just think he is too essential for this team to give up, cuz realistically this team will try and compete for the Cup again next season, and he is so crucial to that PK and the energy he brings to the game is unrivalled in my opinion. I think the team would be more open to giving up a pick alongside like a Leo Komorov or hell maybe giving Seattle a 1st and a decent prospect to take Andrew Ladd's contract.

Yeah Pulock for me is the hardest to gauge value for because he is already 25. I do believe he is worth 6mil, but with the lack of space and no real moves to make I gave him 500K-1mil less than he deserves. The problem with giving him lets say a 2 year deal is that it'll end by time he's 27 years old and will make him a UFA at that point, in which whoever the highest bidder is could potentially poach him. And with the skillset that Pulock provides, I could see a team in 2 years throwing 7.5mil by 7 years at this guy. If they can get rid of probably Komorov or Clutterbuck (I would pick Komorov because of the intangibles and leadership that Clutterbuck brings) to a team like NJ along with like a 2nd or maybe with a 3rd and a prospect like Sebastian Aho, then I believe they can sign Pulock long term.

It’ll b very interesting to see what Lou can pull off. I don’t think he lets any of the 3 go

I don't think the team can afford to lose any of the 3. They and Tampa are in for a hard offseason with money they've invested in their veterans.

That's true, don't get me wrong I love Casey and I know what an incredible asset he is to the Islanders, but we're in a massive cap crunch, this year and next year. We can't afford to pay a 4th center 5 million and sign other positions as well. If we didn't sign Pageau long term I can see us keeping him around for a long, long time, but I'd like to get picks/assets back for him rather than see him walk as a UFA and get nothing.

Yeah I just don't see a team (outside of maybe Colorado) who is a contender that would be willing to give up like a 3rd or something for Cizikas with most teams facing the cap crunch this offseason. The only other team in the league I could see that would take him on (besides the cap dump cities of NJ, OTT or DET) would be Buffalo, since they have the space, and Cizikas can be a good leader for a club trying to emerge as a playoff team. Only problem is they have no 3rd round picks and not much to offer. I'd rather keep him to compete this year and if you lose him next year, which probably happens then you have to deal with it if you're the Isles.

I'm thinking if they packaged him with one of our cap dumps we'll still get a descent return from those cities with cap space. In my eyes he's almost identical to Pageau in the way he plays and we gave up a 1st and 2nd for him.
