Why would NSH consider that?

Because the get the more offense minded player, which they need. I could upgrade the pick to a 3rd tho

Interesting Proposal, but idk if the Canucks can afford to take on Johnsson's cap if they are also retaining on Roussel, plus all the other contract they need to sign.

I don't think the Leafs have any interest in signing Markstrom, I do believe Calgary wins him and that Van will at that point have interest in Andersen - Leafs are in the market for a 1b or 2a goalie or a Starter at under 5 with 2/3 years left - Don't kid yourself Dubas absolutely believes Campbell is the leafs starter in 2-3 seasons

They both had identical goal totals the past two years, with Kerfoot playing higher up in the lineup. Sissons is the more well-rounded player, on a much better contract. He plays wing too, which is a bonus as NSH is over-loaded at center right now. Sorry but a 3rd isn't going to do it for NSH. It's a bad trade for them without the retention, a train wreck with it.

Kerfoot plays wing too.

And ok it's fair

Huh, I only ever think of Kerfoot as a center. Still, he's a lesser player than Sissons on a worse contract. Not worth the downgrade to NSH for a 3rd or 4th.

From the canucks perspective - roussel and Johnsson fill the same role and despite johnssons better production, with 1M retained roussel is probably better value (which the canucks and leafs both need). At 5 mill a season andersen is probably good value but with so many other UFA goalies probably doesn't have much value in this trade, talking 2nd rounder or lower. Then you want Gadjovich, a 5th, and a 7th?

Forget about the nickels and dimes added to this trade, mostly would reject from a lack of fit from a cap perspective.

It's a good idea but I'm not sure Van can afford to make this trade but I do think they seriously consider it tho.
