I think jets keep Connor over laine because he seems to gave better Che.is try with scheifele and wheeler. In most cases yes keep him over ehlers but I think laine is getting sour over his revolving door of centers on the second line

Today's presser he stated he was looking for an asset that can play and a sweetner of a future asset. Moore contract would get in the way of this plan.

Moore would be behind Danny DeKeyser, Patrick Nemeth, and Marc Staal on the LHD chart. In addition he would block the path for prospects like Jared McIsaac (2018 R2#36) and Dennis Cholowski (2016 R1#20). Moore would have to be buried for 3 years and that goes against Yzerman's pressers.
