With all the retention and the initial difference in cap hits, they're giving PHilly $4M in cap space a year for three years. If they can get JVR back to 30 goals a year, CGY can still win this, for sure, but what can Philly do with $4M?

agreed, cap is too valuable not to take this deal. I doubt the flames retain that much though. They could do a lot with $4m. Not just the RFAs but could pick up a cheap depth guy(s). I'd take this
