I stink at the NHL comparisons, Ryan Suter is one I see used a lot that makes sense.

Sanderson is an excellent skater. More explosive than end-to-end speed. Burst is A++. Very strong with puck. Uses size well.

Enormously high ceiling.

What’s his ceiling offensively?

From an offensive production level, if ends up as good as he is reputed to be defensive and he gives you 30-45 points, I think you would be delighted with that. Realistically I think he'll be close to 25-30 points, and a handful of goals every season.

He's a guy who can move the puck well with his mobility, and he definitely has a good enough offensive skillset to be a consensus top 10 pick but I wouldn't expect those gaudy point totals of a more offensive minded Dman.

I have no idea but apparently Dorion really likes him and he’s going to UND where Dorion picked JBD, Tychonich and Pinto from there. I don’t understand it when there’s much better Franchise Dmen next year and we need RHD way more than LHD

Oh, that list of high impact players. Well guess I'll have to take a step back then.

No but seriously, reaching positionally and on the basis of uni selection should both be fireable offenses.

Hope not

He'll be a middle pairing DFD with some offensive ability, maybe Marcus Pettersson, probably a bit better

I would say best case scenario is Ryan Suter.

I really like him. It’s not often you can find a draft eligible kid that is an elite defender that is mobile in all 4 directions. The offence will come

I think point totals are misleading.

If a team is looking for an all-situations, 25+ minutes a night guy...a traditional #1 d-man...Sanderson is your guy.

If a team is looking for offensive, puck transition, 50-pt d-man...Drysdale is probably your guy.

Obviously points aren't a great metric to judge Dmen, especially defensive minded ones, but it's also the easiest way to get a point across in a discussion about offensive upside.

Obviously you're not really drafting Sanderson to be that type of Dman, but it's still worth considering his upside. For as good as he projects to be defensively, his offensive upside will be what tips the Scales between him being a good 3-4 or being a potential 1-2.

He has a lot of offensive upside. No one is considering him a 2nd pairing defensive d-man. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be having the conversation of whether he goes top-5 or top-10.
