Ehh, they are pretty close in value. Neither have lived up to what they were supposed to be, well Debrusk has not lived up to what Sweeney thought he would, kinda has to what everyone else did. Hanafin is good, Flames #1 LD and would easily be Bruins. But he is not upper echelon and I can make a case for him not being in the top 20 LD in the league. While Debrusk has averaged 25g per 82 games he is inconsistent and one dimensional. Hanafin gets a nod in value and another boost in positional value. B’s would have to add in a swap of the two but not significantly.

Flames have no reason to do it other than as a replacement for Gaudreau if they traded him. Like you i don’t see a fit.

His per 60 5v5 production over the last 3 years is nearly identical to Boeser. He's also ranked top 20 in 5v5 goals scored among all LW's over the last 3 years. He's a legit #2LW that has been bounced between linemates for 2 years now.

What is a 23 year old averaging 25 goals per 82 worth? For perspective couple of guys from his draft class. Mitch Marner 22g per 82. Barzal 20g per 82. Not saying he is worth what they are. He isn’t. But he flies under the radar in terms of production and value for some reason. Considering the rights to Krug are worth roughly a 3rd....Debrusk and a 3rd for Hanifin, in terms of value, is an overpay.

Not as a UFA. Doubt they get a pick inside the top 70.
