I'm not a huge fan of Virtanen, but Vancouver isn't going to just let him walk for free. He's still a valuable asset, this isn't remotely realistic.

I bunch of places are speculating that they might not qualify him because of money reasons. it probably won't happen but if it does I'd love for the sharks to take a swing at him

If they aren't going to qualify him, they'll trade him before the start of free agency. Even if he's not part of their future, they aren't letting him just leave.

id love to know what these "places" are.

but they would easily trade him if they didn't sign him.

Isn't his QO only like $1.4 million? They'd be crazy not to QO him.

"• Jake Virtanen provided 18 goals for $1.5 million, which looks like fine value on paper. Yet Jim Benning was not impressed by the 24-year-old’s post-season. If cap-tight Vancouver can’t locate a trading partner in the next couple of weeks, do they make an effort to at least retain Virtanen’s negotiating rights?

This one is especially tricky because Virtanen has arbitration rights, and his offensive numbers should result in a raise, further stressing Benning’s cap picture."

Anyways like I said It probably won't happen, its very light speculation. I just thought it was a fun idea.
