Take Jack Johnson out of the deal the Sen’s make the deal
No ones taking Johnson contract unless the pens add a first round pick and high end prospects

OTT is getting a #1 goalie for a discounted price, plus a 2nd round pick and middle 6 forward. Johnson on bottom pairing to mentor younger guys isnt that bad. OTT paid Hainsey 3.5 this past year and didnt even trade him for an asset.

I could see that happening [minus the 2nd Rd pick] but IMO Teirney is a carbon copy of what Bones was when we got him - Same age, a 3C that is on a bad team & getting more playing time at 2C & having higher numbers for it BUT is more suited for 3C.

Going to have to add the pick because JJ. Teirney is best as 3C.

TIerney = Murray

Simon + 2nd is not enough to take JJ.

Tierney

He might get hurt but he's better, Nosek hasn't been overwhelmingly healthy either. Would rather save the half million and put him on IR if he gets hurt again

What a ridiculous ask just to take on a 3.25M contract. Took Staal a 2nd to get shipped out of NYR. Any team with the room can eat JJ’s contract or just buy him out. That’s such a bs price tag to take him lol

Tierney is not worth Murray alone. Stop putting that high of a price on a 3C. That Ottawa trade is one of the most fair ive seen on here.

Agreed,
Murray does not equal Tierney
Young RFA starting goalie with 2 cups and one season sub .900 for a 3C?

Tierney is worth 2nd+3rd, Murray is worth about the same.

He has been inconsistent, and he is looking for a big payday, neither of things that make for increased trade value. He hasnt played like a starter, and he wasnt the starter for one of those cups.

Tierney is a 3C, but he plays all situations and is one of the best 3C in the league.

Nobody without PIT display pictures thinks thats a good trade.

The difference Staal had one yr left Johnson has 3 yrs left 3 times the price to move
Referencing the Staal trade as a comparable is fcking laughable
