Silverchair GM

Created by: allgoaliesaretrash
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 28, 2020
Published: Sep. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Remember Silverchair? From the 90's? I lived in Newcastle for a few years and my uncle taught them English and Drama at school.

Anyway, I kind of hate this team now. I started making it after reading some BS Columbus rumour but the pieces don't really fit. Whatever. Go listen to Silverchair.

I don't think the wings would say no to that. I think Engvall is worth more and has value to the leafs with the speed they traded on the PK with Kapanen, so I think he stays. I don't know anything about Wennberg, but think Savard might cost more.

bacon. bacon is delicious.

But seriously, that CBJ trade is terrible for them.

Yeah, I didn't know how to value it. There has been a couple of reports of Wennberg possibly getting bought out, and he's on a pretty big ticket for 3 more years. I think the Leafs could use him and surround him with some more offensive players.

His buyout is super cheap. Believe it is just over 800k per year. That may be the way they go.

I like Engvall, I hope the Leafs keep him.

I don't think the Leafs should take on a bad long-term deal for temporary D help. With that deal in the flat cap world Savard is certainly gone in a year and Rielly may follow afterwards. That doesn't help enough, don't take back Wennberg no way. I realize then you have to pay up to get Savard but I think he's a realistic option for Toronto and shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.
